I had a strong urge then that going back to the Mormon Church was what I needed to do. I felt lonely and knew that if something happened I would have been completely on my own. I was 30 then and had my husband and kids but I didn't have any friends outside work because I was so focused on my family. I kept thinking about her and then my own life. She told me a story about how her husband had gone in for routine surgery and died unexpectedly and it had been a long, drawn out ordeal for her. She was older than me and, one day, I asked her why she wasn't married. I began working for a college in the admissions department in the Pacific Northwest where I live, and there was a woman there I was drawn to chatting with. Rejoining the Mormon Church at the age of 30 We separated and I rekindled a relationship with, and married, my husband Steve in my early 20s and we had three children together. I actually met someone in high school, got married a bit too young and had my son at 19. That's what I love about the Mormon Church.Īfter graduating high school I didn't attend for a while. I understood the basics and believed in the core of the religion.īut I just wanted to socialize everyone was so welcoming. Of course knew about the Book of Mormon and that Joseph Smith founded The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I remember services as being three hours long, with a traditional service and then two classes, but I didn't pay a lot of attention. I liked this group that was very organized and close knit and had bible study class where I could make friends. I wasn't baptized in the Mormon Church until I was an adult, but in my mind I've been a member since I was a kid.Īt the time it wasn't really about faith or religion, it was just about wanting something to do and wanting to belong. Through them, I was introduced to the Mormon Church and I started attending. A neighboring family that we were very close with were Mormons, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), and I had another friend at school who was also Mormon. I was an only child growing up, so I was a bit lonely. How can you be “normal” when having such sick, disgusting thoughts? Shouldn’t you feel bad for even considering the idea? How could you possibly think of doing such a thing? Invasive thoughts are upsetting, stressful, or unhealthy thoughts that may seem to appear in your head for no reason – and can cause you a lot of anxiety, anguish, and emotional turmoil.įor example, you may frequently have an intrusive or invasive thought about crashing your car while driving. The lighting director must also understand electricity. In addition, to understand the different types of lighting equipment and accessories and how to use them, a lighting director needs to be comfortable working at heights, be willing to work long hours, enjoy traveling, and in some cases, have a valid commercial driving license. WHAT SKILLS DOES THE LIGHTING DIRECTOR NEED? In these situations, the lighting director reports to the Director of Photography, who in turn works with, and reports to, the Director. In other productions, there may be a designated lighting director who works closely with the director of photography. Often, the director of photography (cinematographer) acts as the lighting director, in which case he works closely with the director to achieve the look, feel, and mood of each shot. In daytime exterior shots, the lighting director may be faced with shooting into the sun (massive backlighting) yet finding ways to light the actors through the use of reflectors or HMI lights. In the nighttime or interior shots where all lighting must be supplied, it is possible to “paint the scene” with the proper placement of lights. In fact, this can be as difficult, if not more so than locations that depend entirely on artificial light. While we primarily think that the lighting director is only used for interiors or nighttime shoots, in actuality they also are responsible for achieving the look and feel of scenes shot outdoors in the daytime. They also are charged with helping actors look right for their parts. Lighting directors need to be knowledgeable about a wide range of lighting equipment to achieve the desired mood, atmosphere, and effects required in each scene. In the film industry, the lighting director is responsible for the look and feel of the images that make up a movie. “Create a playlist of 15 deep cut Coldplay songs”.“Create a playlist of every Coldplay song that has appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, sorted by release date”.“Create a playlist of 10 one hit wonders from the late 90s and early 2000s”.“Create a playlist of 15 songs produced by Jack Antonoff and not performed by Bleachers”.“Create a playlist of Codplay’s Grammy-winning songs”.Some of the things I tried specifically using the Apple Music integration: Make me a playlist with 25 mellow indie rock songs released between 20 and sort them by release year, from oldest to most recent.” ChatGPT can find and recommend songs by vibe, release date, mood, and more.
